Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) પર March expiry वाली Silver પોતાના highest levelથી લગભગ ₹96,000 પ્રતિ કિલો તૂટી ગઈ. આ ઘટાડો એટલા માટે પણ ડરાવનારો છે કારણ કે જેટલી ઝડપે ચાંદી ઉપર ગઈ હતી, એના કરતાં પણ વધારે ઝડપે નીચે આવી.

1980ની Hunt Brothers ઘટના ફરી યાદ આવી

Market experts આ crashની તુલના 1980ની Silver Crash સાથે કરી રહ્યા છે. તે સમય દરમિયાન અમેરિકાના બે અબજપતિ ભાઈઓ – Hunt Brothers – દ્વારા market cornering થવાથી Silverમાં અદભૂત તેજી અને પછી ઐતિહાસિક ધરાશાયી આવી હતી.

શું હતું Hunt Brothers નું Silver Game?

1970ના દાયકામાં Gold Standard ખતમ થયા બાદ inflation વધી. આ સમયગાળામાં Hunt Brothersએ Silverને safe investment માનીને મોટાપાયે physical silver અને futures contracts ખરીદ્યા. 1979 સુધીમાં તેઓ world silver supplyનો લગભગ 1/3 ભાગ control કરતા હતા.
